How to reoccupy your flat, condo or house following bedbug treatment.
Prevention and the protection of people, the environment and your living spaces are at the heart of our priorities. To help you return to your house, condo, accommodation or workspace, we suggest five steps to follow before re-entering your spaces.
Here are the 5 stages:
First of all, it is important to follow all your technician’s recommendations meticulously and to respect the exit deadlines to avoid having to start all the work over again.
- The first step would be to ventilate the premises. Open all doors and windows, if possible, to allow for good air circulation (for at least 15 minutes);
- Then wash all your items in hot water and dry them in the dryer at a high temperature for at least 30 minutes. If you have items that do not go in the washing machine, you can opt for steam washing equipment. You can borrow or rent it if you do not have this piece of equipment;
- Freezing your items is not a 100% optimal option, but it can be an option if you don’t have a washer, dryer or steamer. Store for at least four days (minimum -19 degrees). The laundromat or dry cleaner in your neighborhood may also be a solution to consider.
- Children’s toys or plastic items should be washed with mild soap. The option of doing it in the bath may be a solution;
- Finally, you must put your items back in new bags to keep them until the end of the second treatment. Do not wash the floor for a few days (minimum 21 days) so as not to remove the technician’s products. However, you can sweep or vacuum.
In short, if you have any other questions or concerns, a qualified and certified GREENBUG technician will answer your questions and offer solutions and strategies to give you peace of mind.
